Laura Dern Wore a Pretty Ruffled Blouse to the U.S. Open

Laura Dern aced her outfit this weekend at the U.S. Open. 

Absolutely smashing her look, the Big Little Lies actress showed up to the event in a white ruffle blouse paired with flowy black-and-yellow floral pants. She completed the ‘fit with comfy-looking sneakers and a pair of colorful shades.

But backpedaling, you’re probably thinking: She wore ruffles in fall? Aren’t those typically a springy detail? (After all, she did wear a floor-length dress with the frills back in March.) Sure, ruffles are generally bound to be broken out in the warmer months, as they’re light, airy, and ethereal, but they’re actually so easy to wear all the time. Darker bottoms, like Dern’s, add some contrast to the look, and thanks to their long sleeves, can be worn in colder months, too.
