McKayla Maroney was a part of the historic medal-receiving gymnast group, the Fab Five/Fierce Five. The artistic gymnastics team consisted of herself, Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber. 

Together, they have been quite the decorated team. 

They won the second team gold medal for the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. While Douglas won a gold medal in the individual all-around event, Maroney won silver on vault and Raisman won bronze on balance beam, as well as gold on floor exercise.

In addition to her fabulous victories, Maroney continued to make headlines with a comedic selfie taken of her after winning silver in the 2012 Olympics, which of course, became an Internet meme.
